At lower speeds, the Corolla Cross Hybrid runs primarily on electric power, with the gas engine helping to keep the battery pack charged. At higher speeds, you get a blend of the two. This results in a very impressive estimated fuel economy of 42 MPG combined and an incredible 45 MPG in the city.
