First, a vehicle has to meet certain criteria. A Gold Certified model must be six years old or newer and have 85,000 miles or fewer on the odometer to qualify for certification at all. At that point, the vehicle undergoes a 160-point inspection, and its vehicle history report is reviewed. Silver Certified models can be up to 10 years old with 125,000 miles and must pass a 136-point inspection. Only models with a clean bill of health and an exemplary past will become certified. When you buy a CPO model, you'll get more than just an assurance that the vehicle is reliable-we back up that claim with an excellent coverage policy.

You'll get a limited comprehensive warranty that lasts for 12 years or 12,000 miles (whichever comes first), meaning that a wide range of issues you might run into will be covered. For seven years or 100,000 miles, Gold Certified vehicles have an additional limited powertrain warranty. You'll also have Roadside Assistance in your corner if you break down in an inconvenient spot. If that spot is far from home, don't worry; this policy is honored at over 1,400 dealerships across North America.
